The Temple has a Welcome Arch and there is a Neivedhya Peedam or Bali Peedam and a Dwajasthambam or Kodi Maram facing East towards the Moolasthanam. The Garudalwar of theis Temple is found with 8 Naaga Kattugal and hence called as Ashtabandana Garudalwar. The Temple is built facing West and the Presiding Deity is installed inside the Sanctum Sanctorum facing West. The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Sri Arulala Perumal who is an incarnation of Maha Vishnu. He is seen in a standing posture atop a podium with Sri Devi and Bhoo Devi on either side. His upper two hands holds a Sangu and a Chakkaram while his lower hands shows the Abhaya and Varadha Hastham. The Presiding Deity who is known here as Sri Arulala Perumal is also referred as Chithramezhi Vinnagar Emperuman and Purushothama Peruman. The Temple has a Shrine for Sri Perundevi Thaayar. There is a Sub Shrine for Sri Bala Yoga Narasimhar who is found without His Teeth. There are Sub Shrines for Gods and Goddess like Aandal, Anjaneya Swamy, Yoga Narashimar, Chakrathalwar, Vaishnavi, Adi Kesavaperumal, Alwars and Acharayas. In the year 2006 Munnur Arulala Perumal Seva Trust was formed and  renovation was carried out and Maha Samprokshanam was performed on 24th January 2011.
