Sri Kotilingeswara Swamy Temple is located in Kammasandra, a small village in Kolar District of Karnataka. The Presiding Deity is God Shiva in the form of a Shiva Lingam measuring 33 meters and accompanied by a Basava Statue and is known here as Sri Kotilingeswara Swami. It was Swamy Sambasivamoorthy who took keen interest and built this Temple in the year 1980. The huge Nandhi Idol catches the eyes of many Tourists and Devotees alike. Within the Main Temple there are 11 other Temples having various other Deities. Apart from the Presiding Deity, the Idols of Sri Brahmma, Maha Vishnu, Anjaneyaswamy and Devi Annapoorna are housed in different Sub Shrines of the same Temple.

The name of the Temple clearly suggest that there ought to be 1 Crore Shivalingam here and till date as on 2023 there are already more than 95 lakhs Shivalingams installed here. There is a huge Meditation Hall which could accomadate many Devotees with effortless ease. Nearly 20 to 25 Marriages are conducted here every week or in other words this Temple is quite famous for its Mass Wedding. During Pooja times, apart from the regular Mantras from the Priests, music and beating of drums is another feature here. Many Devotees pay a stipulated amount and install a Lingam and etch their names on it. There are several paid cottages here for the convenience of Tourists and Devotees. The Temple charges a small fee of Rs.20/- per person for Entry and Cameras etc. The Temple is heavily crowded during Mahashivrathiri and other auspicious days. Free Lunch and Annadhanam is done to Devotees. The Government has declared this as a Tourist spot to promote Tourism. Hence Tourists not only from Karnataka and other States but also from all over the World come here to have a glimpse of Kotilingeshwar Temple. The Temple levies a fee for each vehicle parked here but at the same time there is ample parking area provided for each vehicle.
