Sri Veerajambukeshwarar Temple is located in a small village in R.Kunnathur which is close to Polur in Thiruvannamalai District. The full Name of the Temple Sri Marakathavalli Ambal Samedha Sri Veera Jambukeswarar Temple. The Temple is located in a small lane within a residential locality in R.Kunnathur. The Temple does not have any Rajagopuram or Dwajasthambam. Instead there is an East facing Gopuram with the stucco Idol of Shivan and Parvathy atop a Rishaba Vaahanam which is flanked on either side by  Nandhi Vaahanams. On entering the Temple premises there is an Idol of Sri Surya Bhagwan and Sri Chandra Bhagwan and both of them are West facing.

The Temple has a small Neivedhya Peedam or Bali Peedam and a Nandhi Vaahanam beneath a four pillared Mandapam looking West towards the Moolasthanam. Crosiing the multi pillared Mandapam and heading towards the Moolasthanam, there is an East facing Vinayagar Idol along with that of a Naga Devatha Idol. In the East facing Sanctum Sanctorum Sri Veera Jamukeshwarar who is the Presiding Deity is seen in the form of a Shiva Lingam. He looks dazzling to the eyes of the Devotees in the luminescence of the Oil lit lamps. There is a Naalvar Sub Shrine in which the Idols of Sri Sundarar, Sri Appar, Sri Manikavasagar and Sri Thirunavukkarasar are seen North facing. There is a wooden enclosure within this multi pillared Mandapam where the Urchavamoorthy Idols are placed North facing whereas Sri Somaskandar and Sri Natarajar Idols are placed South facing. Around the Koshtam of the Moolavar are the Idols of Sri Vinayagar, Sri Dhakshinamoorthy, Sri Maha Vishnu, Sri Brahmma, Sri Durgai and Sri Chandikeshwarar. The Shrine of Sri Maragadhavalli Ambal is located in the outer peripheral of the Temple and is East facing. Within the Shrine Sri Maragadhavalli Ambal is seen in a standing posture and Her Idol is believed to be made of a green stone. Facing Her Shrine is a Simha Vaahanam and a Neivedhya Peedam. Close to the Shrine of Sri Maragadhavalli Ambal is a South facing Idol of Sri Chandikeshwari.

The outer peripheral of the Temple has an East facing Sub Shrine of Sri Valampuri Selva Vinayagar whose stucco Idol is atop the Gopuram of this Sub Shrine. Facing the Sub Shrine is a Moonjur Vaahanam and Neivedhya Peedam. Sri Valampuri Selva Vinayagar is seen East facing and in a seated posture here. Next is another East facing Sub Shrine atop which a stucco Idol of Sri Arumugam is seen along with Sri Valli and Sri Devasena. Within this Sub Shrine Sri Arumuga Swamy is seen flanked by Sri Valli and Sri Devasena and facing them is a Mayil or Peacock Vaahanam along with a small Neivedhya Peedam. Sri Arumuga Swamy is seen hilding a Vajrayudham or Vajra Vel and a Sevel Kodi in His hands. The Peacock on which Sri Arumugam is seated in the Sub Shrine faces North instead of South. The liquid poured over the Idol of Sri Arumugam during Abhishekam trickles down from the Idol to the Peacock and then come down through the Snake which is found intertwined between the legs of the Peacock. The Milk thus pouring down through the Snake during the process of Abhishekam is collected and distributed to the Devotees. Just outside this Sub Shrine is an East facing Naga Devatha Idol. The outer peripheral has an exclusive Sub Shrine for the Navagraha Sannadhi. Close to this is a South facing Idol of Kaala Bhairavar who is seen in a standing posture. The Sthala Viruksham of the Temple is Vilva Maram. Vinayagar Chathurthi, Aippasi Annabishegam, Arudhra Dharisanam, Masi Magam, Pradhosham, Navarathri, Maha Shivarathiri are some of the festivals are celebrated in a grand manner.
