The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Lord Adhi Kesava Perumal and He is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. He Blesses His Devotees along with His Consorts Alarmel Mangai Thaayar and Padmasani Thaayar. This Temple is considered to be one of the 108 Divya Desam that is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The Presiding Deity can be see in a Standing Posture inside the Sanctum Sanctorum and He is facing west. The Unique aspect of this Temple is that this is the only Temple where the Presiding Deity appears with 8 Hands and Hence the Name Ashtabhuja  Perumal.The Vimanam of the Sanctum Sanctorum is known as Chakrakuthi Vimanam. It is Believed that the Presiding Deity will remove all problems for all sotrs of costruction works. This Temple is around 1500 Years Old. The Theertham is named as Gahendra Pushkarni. Festivals like Margazhi Vaikunda Ekadasi, Purattasi Navrathri, Sri Rama Navami are celebrated in a grand manner here in this Temple.
