The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Lord Vijayaraghava Perumal who is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu.  He Blesses His Devotees along with His Consort Goddess Maragathavalli Thaayar.  Inside the Sanctum Sanctorum of this Temple Lord Jatayu can be seen on Lord Vijayaragahava Perumal’s lap.  It is believed that this is the place where Lord Rama performed last rites for Lord Jatayu.  The Vimanam of the Sanctum Sanctorum is built by following Veerakoti Design. This Temple is located in the mid point of Chennai Vellore Highway near Baluchettychathiram. This Temple is considered as one of the 108 Divya Desam that is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The Presiding Deity, Vijayaraghava Perumal  can be seen in a sitting posture  like in other Temples.   The Thaayar is seen in a separate Shrine.  Many people come to this Temple to perform the rituals for their forefathers.  There is a huge Theertham in front of this Temple and it is called as Jatayu Theertham. This Temple is around 1000 years old.  Festivals like Float Festival, Maasi Brahmmothsavam,  Avani Pavithra Utsavam and Thirukarthikai is celebrated in a grand manner.
