This Temple is located in a village called Dhamal in Kancheepuram District and lies very close to Chennai - Vellore National Highway. It is believed that this Temple was built around 3000 years ago. The Presiding Deity is Sri Varahiswarar who is an incarnation of Lord Shiva and His Consort here is Gowri Ambal. On entering the Temple Lord Ganesha and Lord Murugan are found in separate Sub Shrines. The Consort of Sri Varaheeswarar, Goddess Gowri has a separate Shrine. 108 Lingam, Lord Sarabeshwarar and the Urchavar Natarajar are kept together in a separate Shrine. It is a great sight to see the statues of 63 Nayanmargal kept in an orderly way. An image of Maha Periyava Sri Chandrasekarendra Sarawathi is kept in the outer Praharam. The Temple has got a huge compound wall and a Temple Garden or Nandavanam. An electric gong is found to mark important rituals and celebrations. There is a Navagraha Sannadhi for the Devotees. Nandhi Statues are placed at regular intervels on the compound wall. Vilvam Tree is the Sthala Viruksham here and beneath it Statues of Vilvambigai Thaayar along with Raahu and Kethu are found. The Temple is unique from other Temples since it does not have a Dwajasthambam. A Sacred Tank or a Pushkarani called Hiranya Pushkarani is found just outside the Temple. This Temple Tank is full of filth and has to be cleaned. This Temple is a Pithru Dosha Nivarthi Sthalam and a Sarpa Dosha Nivarthi Sthalam. It is also a Raahu Kethu Parihaara Sthalam.
