Palayaseevaram is a small village located between Walajabad and Chengalpattu in Kanchipuram District. Its a Hill Top Temple and it is located close to the main road. Devotees can reach the Temple by two ways. There are footsteps leading to the Temple through which Devotees can climb and reach the Temple top. Apart from this there is a motorable ghat road which leads to the Temple top. The hill in Palayaseevaram where the Temple is located is known as Padmagiri Hills. There is a four pillared Mandapam meant for Divine purposes on top of the four sides there are coloured Idols of Garudalwars. There is an East facing four tiered Rajagopuram. The Temple is anomalous since the Dwajasthambam or Kodi Maram and the Neivedhya Peedam are not located immediately after the Rajagopuram. To the left is a North facing Sub Shrine in which Sri Vishwaksenar, Sri Nammalwar and Sri Poigaialwar are seen. Then there is another North facing Sub Shrine in which Sri Thiruppaanalwar and Sri Thirumangaialwar are seen together. The third North facing Sub Shrine is that of Sri Ramanujar and Sri Vishnu Siddhar are seen together. Opposite to these Sub Shrines is a South facing Sub Shrine in which the Idol of Sri Desigar is seen.

Beyond this is a lovely coloured Gopuram in which various coloured Idols including that of the Dasavathara Idols are seen and they look gorgeous to the eyes of the Devotees. Crossing this Gopuram is an East facing Shrine of the Consort who is known as Sri Ahobilavalli Thaayar. There are two coloured Images of two Dwara Balakis who stand guard here. Atop the Shrine of Sri Ahobilavalli Thaayar is a coloured Image of Sri Gajalakshmi. Sri Ahobilavalli Thaayar is seen in a seated posture facing East in Her Shrine. Devotees entering the Moolasthanam may have to climb 4 to 5 steps and enter the same through a South facing entrance. In the Sanctum Sanctorum the Presiding Deity of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Perumal is seen West facing with His Consort on His left lap. There is a continous flow of Devotees since the Temple happens to be located on the main road between Kanchipuram and Chengalpattu. The Presiding Deity of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy would keep any Devotee spellbound by His majestic appearance. Unusually the Dwajasthambam or Kodi Maram and the Neivedhya Peedam are found on the farther side facing East and looking towards the West facing Moolasthanam. The peripheral has a Paramapatha Vaasal or Sorga Vaasal. Close to this they have hung a portrait of Sri Rama and Sri Hanuman embracing each other. The outer peripheral of the Temple has an East facing Sub Shrine but Devotees may have to climb 4 to 5 steps to reach here. Sri Andal Nachiyar is seen in a standing posture. Outside Her Sub Shrine is a small Naaga Devatha Idol. Close to this is a multi pillared Mandapam wherein the Temple Authorities have stacked the Temple Vaahanams. The Temple has its own Madapalli or Temple Kitchen within its premises for Prasadam etc. Since it is a rare Hilltop Temple of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Perumal who is seen rarely West facing the Temple attracts lots of Devotees not only from nearby places but from far flung areas too. Narasimha Jayanthi, Sri Rama Navami, Hanumath Jayanthi, Vaikunda Ekadesi are some of the festivals celebrated in a great fanfare.
