Innambur is also known as Thiru Innambur and it is located close to the Temple Town of Kumbakonam. Ezhuthari Nadheshwarar Temple is also locally known as Ezhutharinathar Temple. It is one among the 276 Thevara Paadal Petra Sthalam and is the 45th SHiva Sthalam built on the Northern Bank of River Cauveri in Chola Naadu. The Temple's Rajagopuram is East facing and comprises of 5 tiers and there are a pair of Dwara Baalakas Idols embedded in the lower half of the Rajagopuram. The Dwajasthambam is consipicuously missing in this Temple. The Vimanam atop the Sanctum Sanctorum is quite huge and has been built in the Gajabrustam style. The Presiding Deity in the Moolasthanam is East facing and in the form of a Swayambhu Shiva Lingam. Sri Ezhuthari Natheswarar is also called as Thaanthondreesar, Sri Atcharapureeswarar or Sri Airavatheshwarar. There is a small Idol for Sage Agasthiyar close to the Moolasthanam since itis believed that Agasthiyar had come to this Temple centuries ago and the Presiding Deity of Lord Ezhutharinathar had taught Agasthiyar how to read and write. Next to the Moolavar Sannadhi all the Urchavamoorthis are compiled and kept together and beside them are two Idols of Kala Bhairavar, Suryan and Chandran.  His Consort here is Sri Sugantha Kundalambigai or Poonkombu Nayagi and Sri Nithya Kalyani. Both these Consorts occupy their own Shrines and are South facing in a standing posture. The Shrine of Nithya Kalyani is closer to the Moolasthanam whereas the Sugantha Kundalambigai's Shrine is located in the outer peripheral. Around the Koshtam of the Sanctum Sanctorum there are Idols for Vinayagar, Pichandavar, Dhashinamoorthy, Arthanareeswarar, Katchi Kodutha Nathar, Chandikeshwarar, Brahmma and Durgai. In the outer peripheral there are Sub Shrines for Kanni Moola Ganapathy, Bala Subramaniyar, Naalvar, Then Kailaya Lingam, Maha Lingam, Kasi Viswanathar, Visalakshi, Mahalakshmi, Vishnu Durgai, Natrajar, Sivagami Ambal, Jeshta Devi and a Navagraha Sannadhi. The Temple has a Ghoshala and an exclusive store room for its haystack. The Sthala Viruksham of this Temple is a Jack Fruit and a Shenbagam Tree. The Pushkarani is called as Iravatha Theertham. Indran's White Elephant Iravatham had come to this Sacred Tank and had taken bath here before entering the Temple to Pray to Him. It could not do so since the entrance was too small. On its Prayer Lord Shiva is believed to have widened the entrance for the easy entry of the Mammoth. The Temple has a well maintained Temple Garden or a Nandhavanam. This Temple has built its Annadhanakoodam not within the Temple, but just outside the Rajagopuram where several can be fed together. Vinayagar Chathurthi, Aippasi Annabishegam, Arudhra Dharisanam, Masi Magam, Pradhosham, Navarathri, Maha Shivarathiri are some of the festivals are celebrated in a grand manner. This Temple is important since most kid's Vidhyapyasam is done here. Those suffering from fluent speaking come here and pray and its believed that their lisping soon disappeares. This Temple is considered as a Poorva Jenma Parihaara Sthalam.
