Sri Prathyangira Devi Temple is located in a place called Moratandi which falls in Vanur Taluk of Tamil Nadu but in reality the Temple is located on the border of Tamil Nadu and very close to Puducherry. The Temple is quite close to the Toll Plaza located on Tindivanam to Pondy Road and it has a West facing Welcome Arch leading to the Temple. The Welcome Arch is beautifully designed and there are gorgeously painted coloured Idols on top of it to make it look more impressive. Sri Prathyangara Devi Temple is around 2 Kms away from the Welcome Arch and a muddy road leads to the Temple. This Temple has to be reached through a narrow muddy lane with Divine Shops on either side. This is a North facing Temple and it has been exquisitely designed with two Lion Head entrances. A wooden door entrance is also seen between these two Lion Head entrances. Devotees may have to climb down 10 to 12 steps to reach the Moolasthanam of Sri Prathyangira Devi. Since Prathyyangara Devi is seen in an aggressive form She is known as Uggra Parthyangara Devi. Since the Moolasthanam is built underground the Presiding Deity is also known as Paadhala Prathyangara Devi. A small Neivedhya Peedam and a South facing Simha Vaahanam are seen on an elevated podium. The Presiding Deity of Sri Prathyangira Devi is considered as another Chandika Parameshwari. The Moolasthanam is conspicuously built on the Sukramedu.
