Sri Vaigunda Vasa Perumal Koil is located around 1 to 2 Kms away from the Thindivanam to Pondy main road in Kiliyanur opposite to Kiliyanoor Post Office.  In olden days Kiliyanoor was called as Sugapuri since Saint Suga Brahmma Rishi performed Penance here and hence the name. Saint Suga Brahmmar had a Parrot like head and a Human Body and hence this place was called as Kiliyanur. The Agni Theertham which cured the leprosy of  Saint  Suga Brahmma Rishi is located here. As such this Temple does not have any huge Rajagopuram. On entering the Temple premises we can find a Dwajasthambam carved out of a stone. Close to this Dwajasthambam there is a Kaalinga Narthanam and a Thulasi Maadam kept. Close to this they have placed a blue coloured statue of Sri Krishna standing along with a cow. This Temple is said to be built by the 2nd Nandhi Vikraman of the Pallava Dynasty. The Omnipotent Vaigunta Vasa Perumal is seated in the Sanctum Sanctorum along with the Sri Devi and Bhoo Devi facing West and there is No Abishegham formalities for this Perumal since the Main Deity is a Varna Kalaa Perumal and is coated with a Nava Paashana Painting. Facing the Vaikuntavasa Perumal is a seated Garudan opposite to the Sanctum Sanctorum. Very close to the Presiding Deity of Vaikunda Vasa Perumal there is an Idol of Vishvaksenar and Sri Lakshmi Narayana Perumal kept in a Sub Shrine. There is a Sub Shrine for SriJanakavalli Thaayar who is His Consort. They do have a Ghoshaala with a few Cattles. This Ghoshaala during the  Pallava Days were the ante rooms where the Gods used to get dressed up and this Mandapam was carved out of a single stone. There are Sub Shrines for Viswakshenar, Sri Lakshmi Narayana Perumal and  Aandal and in one of the Pillars of the Andal Sub Shrine is a carving of Narasimhar. The Temple has a Nandhavanam and a compound wall.
