Sri Theertheswarar Swamy or Sri Theertheswarar Temple is located in a place called Theerthapuri in Tiruvallur Town. This Temple is located very close to Sri Vaidhya Veeraraghava Perumal Temple. The full name of the Temple is Arulmigu Thiripurasundari Ambal Samedha Sri Theertheswarar Swami Devasthanam. Sri Theertheswarar Temple has an East facing three tiered Rajagopuram. Before entering the main Temple Devotees may have to Pray Sri Thadaga Ganapathy in His East facing Sub Shrine. At the outset there is a West facing Yaaga Saalai, a West facing Sub Shrine for Ramalinga Vallalar and another West facing Sub Shrine of Surya Bhagwan. Close to this is a South facing Sub Shrine of Kaala Bhairavar who is seen in a standing posture. There is a Neivedhya Peedam or a Bali Peedam, a Dwajasthambam and a Nandhi Vaahanam within a four pillared Mandapam facing the Moolasthanam. To the left of the Dwajasthambam there is a West facing Sub Shrine of Naalvar comprising of Appar, Sundarar, Thirugnana Sammandhar and Manickavasagar. There is a multi pillared Mandapam leading to the Moolasthanam and on top of this Gopuram there are various coloured Idols of Gods and Goddesses. On the way to the Moolasthanam the Urchavamoorthy Idols are all neatly displayed on the right flank in an enclosure. In the Sanctum Sanctorum Sri Theertheswarar or Sri Theertheswara Swamy is seen East facing and in the form of a Shiva Lingam. Around the Koshtam of the Moolavar the Idols of Parivaara Ganapathy, Dhakshinamoorthy, Maha Vishnu, Brahmma, Durgai and Chandikeshwarar are seen. The Consort of Sri Theertheswarar is known here as Sri Thiripurasundari Ambal. Her Shrine is located in the outer periphery in a multi pillared East facing Sub Shrine. Sri Thiripura Sundari Ambal Blesses Her Devotees in a standing posture. There is a small Simha Vaahanam facing the Ambal's Shrine.

To the rear of the Moolasthanam is the Sub Shrine of Maal Vinay Theertheeeswar. This is an East facing Sub Shrine and it is said that this Maal Vinay Theertheswarar Sub Shrine had come up here on the instruction of Kanchi Maha Periyava when he had come to this Temple. A story says that Sri Vaidhya Veeraragava Perumal takes over all the ailments of His Devotees and this Maal Vinay Theertheswarar is instrumental in taking over and relieving Sri Vaidhya Veeraraghava Perumal from the ailments that He had taken over from His Devotees. This Sub Shrine comprises of Sri Maal Vinay Theertheswarar in the form of a Shiva Lingam, Perumal, Veerabadra Swamy and Visalakshi Ambal. To the rear of this Sub Shrine is an East facing Sub Shrine of Sri Asthana Ganapathy which is located close to the rear gate of the Temple. Beside the Maal Vinay Theestheswarar Sub Shrine is the Sthala Viruksham of this Temple which is a Magizha Maram and beneath this Viruksham there are plenty of Naga Devatha Idols around it. The Temple has a East facing Sub Shrine of Sri Bala Subramaniyar. The Gopuram of his Sub Shrine has coloured Idols of Valli Devasena Samedha Sri Subramaniyar. The Mandapam of this Sub Shrine displays the Idols of Arupadai Veedu which are the six Abodes of Sri Subramaniyar. In the East facing Moolasthanam Sri Subramnaiyar is seen flanked by His Consorts Valli and Devasena. Close to the Ambal's Shrine is an East facing Sub Shrine of Swamy Ayyappan and the Gopuram of this multi pillared Mandapam has two Tigers on the flanks with Swamy Iyyappan seated on another Tiger at the centre. In the Moolasthanam Swamy Iyyappan is seen in a seated posture. The Sub Shrine's rooftop is seen covered with gold plating and Images of Swamy Iyyappan seated on a Tiger is etched on these gold platings. Apart from this there is a South facing Sub Shrine of Sri Pazhani Aandavar who is seen in a standing posture. The Navagraha Sannadhi of this Temple is differently built and Devotees may have to climb 4 to 5 steps. Within it the Navagrahams are kept on an elevated podium with steel railing around them. Next is the South facing Natarajar Sannadhi in which Sri Natarajar is seen along with Sri Sivagami Ambal. There is a Vaahana Mandapam in which the Temple Vaahanams are stacked and kept. This Temple shares the Sacred Tank or Pushkarani along with the Temple of Sri Vaidhya Veeraraghava Perumal and the name of the Pushkarani is Hrudapanasini. Thei Pirai Ashtami, Valar Pirai Ashtami, Vinayagar Chathurthi, Shasti, Thai Poosam, Aippasi Annabishegam, Arudhra Dharisanam, Masi Magam, Pradhosham, Navarathri are some of the festivals are celebrated in a grand manner. This Temple is located close to Sri Vaidhya Veeraraghava Perumal Temple and has rows of shops all around. Therefore two wheelers could be parked quite easily whereas parking of four wheelers could be crucial and stressful to the Devotees.
