Perambakkam is an important village in Thiruvallur District, Sri Vaigunda Perumal Temple is also known as Sri Veetrirundha Perumal Temple. The Temple is situated on the main road and has an East facing three tiered Rajagopuram. There is a Dwajasthambam or Kodi Maram, a Neivedhiya Peedam or Bali Peedam and a West facing Garudalwar Sannadhi within a multi pillared Mandapam facing the Moolasthanam. Before entering the Moolasthanam there is a Vadakalai Thirumann and Srichurnam at the centre flanked by a Sangu & Chakkram and two Garudalwar Idols. Also two Anjaneyaswami Idols are embossed on the base of two pillars. Then there is a four pillared Mandapam in which there is an East facing Idol of Sri Gousthugar and close to this are the South facing Idols of Nammalwar, Thirumangai Alwar, Ramanujar, Naagar, Sri Rama, Goddess Seetha, Lakshmana. In the same podium is a West facing Idol of Sri Anjaneya Swami. 

In the Sanctum Sanctorum which is East facing the Presiding Deity of Sri Vaikunta Perumal or Sri Veetrirundha Perumal is seen in a sitting posture and flanked by His Consorts Sri Devi and Bhoo Devi. The Urchavamoorthi Idols of Sri Varadharaja Perumal flanked by His Consorts Sri Devi and Bhoo Devi is also seen within the same Sanctum Sanctorum. There is a Urchavamoorthi Idol of Andal Nachiyar and another Urchavamoorthi Idol of Sri Kamalavalli Thaayar whose Sannadhi is found separately. The Urchavamoorthi Idols of Sri Viganasar, Sri Krishnar, Sri Chakkrathalwar and Sri Ramanujar too are seen on a podium closeby.

The outer peripheral of the Temple has a West facing Sub Shrine known as Sanjeevani Peedam and in it there is a West facing Idol of Sri Anjaneya Swamy. The Temple has a Sub Shrine of a North facing Sri Chakkarathalwar and a South facing Sri Yoga Narasimhar who are seen back to back. The Consort of this Temple is known as Sri Kamalavalli Thaayar who is seen in a sitting posture in Her East facing Shrine. Similar to this there is another East facing Shrine in which Sri Aandal Nachiyar is seen in a standing posture. Next to this is a South facing Vaahana Mandapam in which the Temple's Vaahanam could be kept and close to this is a Yaaga Saalai. Likewise there is a South facing Sub Shrine for Sri Viganasar who is considered as a Poovachariar. Next to this is the all important Sub Shrine of Sri Rama who is seen along with Goddess Seetha and Brother Lakshmana facing South. Within the same Sub Shrine Sri Anjaneya Swamy is seen in a kneeling posture facing West. Vaikunta Ekadesi, Sri Rama Navami, Hanumath Jayanthi, are some of the festivals that are celebrated with a great following. This Temple is said to be more than 1200 years and is considered as a Abhimana Sthalam. It is also believed that this is one of the rare Temple which is considered as Sthree Dosha Parihaara Sthalam. Devotees afflicted with this Dosham ought to light a Ghee Lamp and Garland Sri Vaikunda Perumal with a Thulasi Maalai.
