This 900 years old  Murugan Temple is also called as Balasubramaneyeswara Temple. It is located 7 Kms ahead of Ponneri and there is a small road with a Welcome Arch leading us to the Temple from the main road. There are few Pooja and Flower shops adjacent to the Temple. The Temple is beautifully painted and has a gorgeous outlook. There are huge pillared Praharams and a Devotee entering this Temple has to visit the Vembadi Vinayagar Sub Shrine and Padhala Gangai Amman (who is also known as a Grama Devadhai) Sub Shrine located on the right side near the entrance of the Temple.

This is a Paadal Petra Sthalam sung by Saint Arunagirinathar. Sri Murugan is the Presiding Deity and stands in a Commanding Posture facing East to His Devotees. He is said to assume the form of a Child in the Morning, a Youth in the Afternoon and an Elderly during the Evening Time. There are Sub Shrines for and East facing Sri Prasanna Vinayagar and Sri Valli Devasena along with Sri Shanmugar. The South facing Sub Shrines are those of  Sri Kasi Viswanathar, Sri Kasi Visalakshi and Sri Natarajar and Sivagami Ambal in the inner circle. The Koshtam of the Moolavar's Sannadhi has Idols of Sri Vinayagar, Sri Dhakshinamoorthy, Sri Maha Vishnu, Sri Brahmma and Sri Durgai. The Sub Shrine of Sri Samvarthana Munivar is found in the outer peripheral of the Temple.

There is a Yaaga Salai for conducting Poojas. A Navagraha Sannadhi is found in an exclusive enclosure. Ear Boring ceremonies and Marriages can be performed here for which there is an exclusive hall. Devotees from nearby Nellore, Guntur etc in AP and nearby villages in Tamil Nadu consider this Temple as their Kula Deivam. It is believed that jobless, childless Devotees and those having their own business are Blessed by visiting this Temple. There are exclusive enclosures for Kovil Vaahangal. The Temple has an office and runs a Temple Kitchen where free Annadhanam is done to all Devotees coming here. Shasti, Kiruthigai, Vaikasi Visagam, Thai Poosam are some of the festivals celebrated with great fanfare.
