Sitharkadu is a small village quite away from the busy Chennai. The Temple has a 5 tiered East facing Rajagopuram which looks faded. The Rajagopuram not only looks dull but has enormous number of weeds and plants growing on top of it which is not conducive to the long life of the structure. There is a Dwajasthambam and a Neivedhya Peedam or Bali Peedam and a Garudalwar Sannadhi which faces the Sanctum Sanctorum. Atop the Mandabam before the Moolasthanam is an Arch like structure on which faded Sculptures of Sri Sundararaja Perumal and others have been kept. The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Sri Sundararaja Perumal and He is considered as an incarnation of Sri Maha Vishnu. He Blesses His Devotees along with His Consort Goddess Sri Devi and Bhoo Devi. The Urchavamoorthy Vigrahams and the Sudharshana Chakaram are found in the Sanctum Sanctorum. In the next outer Mandapam the Kannan Vigraham is found along with a Urchavar. There are Idols  for Sri Thirumazhisai Alwar, Sri Udayavar or Sri Ramanujar, Sri Thirumangai Alwar, Sri Nammalwar, Sri Senai Mudhalwar along with a Naagar in the Maha Mandapam. There is an Idol of Sri Garudakkodi Siddhar. This Temple is also known as Sri Garudakodi Siddhar Perumal Temple. This Temple was built by Pandya King Jatavarman Sundara Pandiyan in the 13th century on the banks of River Coovam. This place was called as Puliyur Kottathu Thirumandram. This Temple was developed to it's current structure by Nayaka Kings. Though this Temple was built by Pandya King the architectural style resembles like Vijayanagara Style. On entering there is a huge multi pillared Mandapan which is dumped with some old rickety Vaahanams. The Temple has a Temple Kitchen or a Madapalli and close to this are few Idols of Naagar. 

Devotees ought to be careful about the behaviour of the Temple Bhattachariars since they speak to the visiting Devotees in a very rude and harsh tone raising their voice and they consider the Devotees as intruders since they are habituated to playing Mobile Games during the Temple hours with No Supervisory Officers to oversee their work. Only the Sri Sundararaja Perumal Shrine is kept open to the Devotees. The other Sub Shrines of the Thaayar and Andaal have been kept closed all the time. Dheepaaradhanai is a rare phenomenon and only Devotees who cough up a higher amount are offered all these. It is distressing to say that the Temple is so eye captivating but the behaviour of such Bhataachariars make the God fearing Devotees keep away from this particular Temple. This Temple is located very close to Sitharkadu Dhatreeswarar Temple and the Bhataachariyas here have to take a leaf out of the book of that Sivachari managing the Shivan Temple. The Bhataachariyas of this Temple are not that interested in Poojas or explaining about the Temple to the incoming Devotees. They are more keen on playing  Mobile Games and playing among themselves. Despite repeated requests they were determined and steadfast in not opening the Shrine of the Thaayar and Andal. Even the outer peripheral of the Temple could not be circumambulated since it was so thorny and full of cow dung and other sharpnels. Unless the Govt. steps in and tightens their vice like grip the currect set of Bhataachariyas are bound to bring in disrepute to this Temple and the Number of Devotees coming here may dwindle too.
