Sri Angala Amman Temple is located in a place called Pudhu Erumaivettipalayam close to Karanodai in Tiruvallur District. It is a Village Temple located on a hillock. The Road leading from Karanodai to Puthu Erumaivettipalayam is muddy and full of stones and pebbles. There is a North facing Welcome Arch on top of which there is a centrally seated coloured Idol of Sri Angala Parameswari. Flanking this Idol are two more coloured Idols of Sri Ganapathy and Sri Murugan. Close to the Welcome Arch is an East facing Sub Shrine of Sri Veera Badrar who is seen in a standing posture. The Gopuram of this Sub Shrine has a coloured Idol of Sri Veera Badrar. The steps leading from this Welcome Arch to the Temple looks uneven and brittle. Parallely there is a motorable ghat road through which Devotees can reach the Temple premises. This Temple does not have any Rajagopuram or Dwajasthambam.
Before entering the Temple premises there is an East facing Sub Shrine of Sri Ganapathy in which He is flanked on either side with Naga Devathas. This Sub Shrine is beneath two Virukshams or Trees namely Arasa Maram and Neem Tree. Facing this Sub Shrine is a Navagraha Sannadhi. Next to the Navagraha Sannadhi is a West facing Sub Shrine of Sri Pavaadai Rayar who is seen in a standing posture. The Temple authorities have erected a temporary tin sheet roofing on the anterior side of the Temple. There is a coloured North facing Gopuram atop which is the Idol of Sri Mahisaasura Mardhini is seen in the centre. Flanking Her on either side are the Idols of Sri Ganapathy and Sri Murugan. The Temple consists of a neatly tessellated red flooring and a Trident is seen rooted there. Standing guard outside the Gopuram are two coloured Idols of Dwara Baalakis. On entering the Moolasthana Mandapam there is a huge metallic Neivedhya Peedam or Bali Peedam and another Neivedhya Peedam or Bali Peedam made of stone. Facing the Moolasthanam and looking Southwards is a Simha Vaahana Idol. The Moolasthana Mandapam looks differently withour any pillars which implies that it has been constructed in recent years. There are coloured Idols of Sri Durgai Amman, Sri Kali Devi, Sri Chamundeeswari, Sri Vaarahi Amman, Sri Prathiyangara Devi, Sri Renuka Devi, Sri Devi Bhagavathi and Sri Thiripurasundari on both sides of the Moolasthana Mandapam. Even the ceiling here is gorgeously painted.
Initially there is a threshold and on the left of it is the Idol of Sri Ganapathy, to the right of this threshold is the Idol of Sri Murugan and both these Idols are North facing. The second threshold is fully Gold plated and looks resplendent to the eyes of the Devotees. In the Sanctum Sanctorum the Presiding Deity of Sri Angala Parameswari Amman is seen North facing and in a sitting posture. She is said to be Omnipotent and is liberal in granting boons to Her Devotees who come and Pray to Her. Close to the Moolasthanam is an East facing Sub Shrine of Sri Varamuktheeswarar who is seen in the form of a Shiva Lingam. Facing this Sub Shrine is a Nandhi Vaahanam and a Neivedhya Peedam. It is believed that Goodess Seetha was here and She was noticed by Demon Mahishasuran who was infatuated by Her pulcritude and wanted to attain Her at any cost. Knowing this Sri Rama did not want to pick up a direct fight with Mahishasuran and hence throw a Divine Grass which is known as Dharpaipill. This Divine Grass split itself into four and one of it changed into Sri Angala Parameswari Amman and killed the notorious Demon Mahishasuran.
The outer peripheral of the Temple which is well cemented has a West facing Sub Shrine of Sri Anjaneya Swamy. On one side of the outer peripheral there are two Neem Trees over which a Divine Red Saree is seen wrapped. There are a few Divine Stones beneath these two Trees and Devotees who come to this Temple tie a wooden cradle on these Trees for child boon. These two Trees has ample space for the Devotees to circumambulate and go around it. At one end of the outer peripheral they have erected a room like structure with facilities to cook Divine Pongal which can be offered as a Prasadam for Sri Angala Parameswari. Close to this are several Rooms which have been built for the Devotees to stay here. The Tamil Month of Aadi is very auspicious for this Temple and Devotees from Chennai, Thiruvallur Districts and other far and near places come here to Pray before this Omnipotent Sri Angala Parameswari. During those days there is a heavy gathering of Devotees.
