Sri Ekamabaranatha Swamy Temple is located in Minjur in Ponneri Taluk. The full name of the Temple is Sri Kamakshi Amman Udanurai Sri Ekambaranathar Temple and it has several common features to that of Sri Ekambareshwarar Temple at Kanchipuram and therefore this Temple is referred as Vada Kanchi or Vada Kancheepuram. Some Devotees refer this Sri Ekambaranathar Temple as Sri Ekambareshwarar Temple or Sri Ekamabaranatheswarar Temple. It is an East facing Temple with a five tiered coloured Rajagopuram. There is a tall Dwajasthambam or Kodi Maram, a Neivedhya Peedam or Bali Peedam and a Nandhi Vaahanam on a four pillared Mandapam facing the Moolasthanam and these are all enclosed within a steel railings. There is a Gopuram atop which the Idols of Somaskandar and others are seen. To the left of the Moolasthanam is a Sub Shrine of Vinayagar in which He is seen alone but on top of His Sub Shrine He is seen flanked by Siddhi and Buddhi. Likewise Murugan is seen all alone on the right side Sub Shrine but He is seen flanked by Valli and Devasena atop His Sub Shrine.
There are two Idols of Dwara Baalagas and close to one of them is an Idol of Ganapathy. In the East facing Sanctum Sanctorum Sri Ekambaranathar is seen in the form of a Shiva Lingam adorned by a Naagabharanam on the top. Facing the Moolavar is another Nandhi Vaahanam and a small Neivedhya Peedam. He is considered as an incarnation of Lord Shiva. Around the Koshtam of Sri Ekambaranathar there are Idols of Narthana Ganapathy, Dhakshinamoorthy, Lingothbhavar, Brahmma and Durgai The Consort is known as Sri Kamakshi Ambal and She is seen South facing and in a standing posture in Her Shrine which is close to that of Sri Ekambaranathar. Facing Her Shrine is a Simha Vaahanam and a Neivedhya Peedam. Within the Maha Mandapam there is a North facing Sub Shrine of Naalvar in which Thirugnana Sammandhar, Thirunavukkarasar, Sundarar and Manickavasagar.
The outer peripheral has a Vasantha Mandapam in which wooden palanquins are kept. There is a small Viruksham close to the Vasantha Mandapam beneath which the Shiva Lingam is kept and Prayed. There is a multi pillared East facing Sub Shrine in the outer peripheral atop which a coloured Idol of Arumugam is seen. This Sub Shrine consists of an Idol of Sri Shanmugar who is flanked by Valli and Devasena and facing this Sub Shrine is a Peacock Vaahanam and a small Neivedhya Peedam. This Sub Shrine of Sri Arumugam / Sri Shanmugar has few coloured Images of Thai Moogambigai, the Six Abodes of Murugan ( Arupadai Veedu) and Pamban Swamigal. To the rear of the Sub Shrine of Arumugam there is a North facing multi pillared Sub Shrine and facing this is a Nandhi Vaahanam and a small Neivedhya Peedam. This North facing Sub Shrine comprises of Kasi Viswanathar in the form of a Shiva Lingam and Kasi Visalakshi. Around the Koshtam of this Sub Shrine are the Idols of Narthana Ganapathy, Dhakshinamoorthy, Maha Vishnu, Brahmma and Durgai. The multiple pillars of this Sub Shrine have coloured Idols of Anjaneyar, Narasimhar and other Gods embossed on them. The outer peripheral has an East facing Sub Shrine of Sri Selva Vinayagar. Close to this is a hall with shutter in which the Temple Vaahanams are stacked. The lone Chandikeshwarar Sub Shrine is in the outer peripheral and they have a gaping hole on the wall to facilitate Him to look towards the Moolasthanam. The all important South facing Sub Shrine of Kaala Bhairavar draws a lot of Devotees. The Urchavamoorthy Idol of Kaala Bhairavar is brought out and anointed during Abhishekam. Next to this are two Naaga Devathas which are East facing. This Temple has a Navagraha Sannadhi in its outer peripheral. Just beneath the Rajagopuram and facing the Moolasthanam are two Idols of Suryan and Chandran who are Westwards. The Temple has a Madapalli and a Ghoshala close to it. The Sthala Viruksham of this Temple is a Mango Tree or a Maa Maram. The Temple adminstration have built a huge shelter to safely secure the Chariot or Temple Car. Devotees visiting this Temple could buy their Offerings from the shops located close to the Temple. Vehicular parking could be done around the Temple.
Thei Pirai Ashtami, Valar Pirai Ashtami, Vinayagar Chathurthi, Aippasi Annabishegam, Arudhra Dharisanam, Masi Magam, Pradhosham, Navarathri are some of the festivals are celebrated in a grand manner. Vaikasi Brahmmaothsavam, Panguni Brahmmothsavam are some of the festival that are celebrated in a grand manner. During these days it is noteworthy to mention that Sri Ekambaranathar and Sri Varadaraja Perumal of the neighbouring Temple share the same Temple Car while going through the streets of Minjur.
