Elavambedu is a hamlet located on the main road between Minjur and Ponneri in Tiruvallur District. This is an ancient Temple to have been built around 620 years before. The earlier Temple built was dilapidated and hence this Temple has been rebuilt and renovated to its current position now. There is an East facing Welcome Arch leading from the road to the Temple. Sri Lakshmi Narayana Perumal Temple is an East facing Temple with a compound wall and an iron gate. At the outset there is a Neivedhya Peedam or Bali Peedam, a Dwajasthambam or Kodi Maram and a Sub Shrine of Garudalwar which is West facing towards the Moolasthanam. The Gopuram of the Moolasthana Mandapam has a Sri Lakshmi Narayana Perumal Idol at the centre and He is flanked by the Idols of Sri Mahalakshmi and Sri Aandal on either side. The Moolasthana Mandapam is made up of several coloured pillars and coloured stucco Idols of Lions and Dasavatharam are embossed on it. At the entrance of the Moolasthanam there are two coloured Dwara Baalaga Idols standing guard. In the East facing Sanctum Sanctorum Sri Lakshmi Narayana Perumal is seen in a seated posture with Thaayar Lakshmi on His left lap. The Urchavamoorthy Idol of Perumal is seen in a standing posture and flanked by His Consorts Sri Devi and Bhoo Devi. The Vimanam of the Moolasthanam is known as Rathaanga Vimanam and is gorgeously painted.

In the inner peripheral of the Temple there is an East facing Sub Shrine of Sri Thumbikai Alwar. The upper portion of the Sub Shrine of Sri Thumbikai Alwar has several Idols of Moonjur on it since this is His official Vaahanam. There is an East facing Shrine of Sri Padmavathy Thaayar who is seen in a seated posture. Sri Padmavathy Thaayar is the Consort of Sri Lakshmi Narayana Perumal. Next to this is an East facing Sub Shrine of Sri Chakkarathalwar or Sri Sudharshanar. To the rear of Sri Chakkrathalwar is a West facing Yoga Narasimhar. Then there is a Sthala Viruksham which is a Magizha Maram and beneath it is an Idol of East facing Idol of Naga Devatha. Then there is an East facing Sub Shrine of Sri Ramar and on top of the Gopuram there are coloured Idols of Sri Rama, Goddess Seetha and Lakshmana. In this Sub Shrine Sri Ramar, Goddess Seetha and Lakshmana are seen in a standing posture and East facing. The last East facing Sub Shrine is that of Sri Andal who is seen in a standing posture. There is a North facing Sub Shrine of Vishnu Durgai. Finally there is a West facing Sub Shrine of Anjaneya Swamy  and He is known as Baktha Anjaneyar. Sri Baktha Anjaneyar is seen in a standing posture looking Westwards towards the Sannadhi of Sri Ramar. 

The inner walls of the compound bears Images of Thirumann, Sri Churnam, Sangu and Chakkaram. The Temple has a Madapalli or Temple Kitchen and there is adequate space to develop a Nandhavanam. Purattasi Brahmmothsavam, Vaikunda Ekadesi, Navarathri, Sri Rama Navami, Hanumath Jayanthi are some of the festivals that are celebrated in a grand manner. This Temple is considered as a Dosha Nivarthi Sthalam.
