Sri Valvil Ramar Temple is located in a small village known as Pullaboothangudi which is actually much closer to the Temple Town of Kumbakonam in Thanjavur District. The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Sri Ramar. This Temple is one of the 108 Divya Desam that is dedicated to Maha Vishnu. This Temple has a three tiered Rajagopuram and a tall Dwajastambam or Kodi Maram. This Temple is known as Jatayu Moksha Sthalam and Pithru Saabha Vimochana Sthalam since Sri Jatayu died here after fighting gallantly with Ravana. That time Dasaratha Maharaj, father of Sri Rama passed away in Ayodhya and  thinking of that Sri Rama performed the final rites of Jatayu here. Sri Rama Blesses His Devotees along with His Consort Goddess Hemambujavalli who is also called as Sri Potramaraiyal. Unlike other Ramar Temples here Sri Rama can be seen in Bujanga Sayana Posture or in a reclined posture and has four hands each consisting a Conch, Chakra, Bow and an Arrow.

This Temple has two small Sacred Tanks called Jatayu Theertham and Sukhra Theertham. There is a Sub Shrine for Sri Yoga Narashimar and it is believed that anyone worshipping Sri Yoga Narashimar with a Prayer for a decent job here will be blessed with a Good Job because of which He is called as Sri Udyoga Narashimar. Festivals like Sri Rama Navami, Gokulashtami, Thirukarthikai and Vaikunda Ekadesi is celebrated in a grand manner. This Temple is known as Jatayu Moksha Sthalam and Pithru Saabha Vimochana Sthalam.
