This Temple is located in Harikesavanallur which is a few Kms away from Veeravanallur on the Thirunelveli to Ambasamudhram Main Road. The full name of the Temple is Arulmigu Periyanayagi Udanurai Arulmigu Ariyanatha Swamy Temple. This is a East facing Temple with great historical importance. It is said that King Nindraseer Nedumaara Pandyan alias Koon Pandyan built this Temple. He was known as Koon Pandyan since he had a hunch back. He had another name too and it was Arikesari Parangusa Maaravarman and hence Harikesavanallur was named after him just to remember him. This Temple does not have a Rajagopuram but instead there is a Dwajasthambam or a Flag Staff, a Neivedhya Peedam or a Bali Peedam and a Nandhi Vaahanam in a four pillared Mandapam which faces the Moolasthanam. The Dwajasthambam seem to pierce the roof of the multi pillared Mandapam and go skywards. There are two Dwara Baalakas to begin with. On entering further there are two more Dwara Baalagas flanked with Murugan and Ganapathy Idols on either side. There is yet another Nandhi Vaahanam facing the Sanctum Sanctorum. In the Moolasthanam Sri Ariyanatha Swami is seen in the form of a Shiva Lingam and East facing. He is considered as an incarnation of Lord Shiva. In the inner peripheral there are Idols for Juradevar, Veerabadrar, Sapthamathas and Vinayagar. There is yet another Vinayagar Idol here which is known as Kanni Vinayagar. Close to this is the Sub Shrine for Kasi Viswanathar in the form of Shiva Lingam and Visalakshi. In the Sub Shrine for Shanmugar He is flanked on either side by Valli and Devasena. Closeby is the Idol for Saneeswarar and Kubera Lingam is seen in the form of a Shiva Lingam. Around the Koshtam of the Moolasthanam are Medha Dhakshinamoorthy, Maha Vishnu, Brahmma and Chandikeshwarar. The outer peripheral has a South facing Sub Shrine for Jeshta Devi who is considered very auspicious here. This Temple was built by the Pandya Kings. It is a general habit of the Chola Kings to build a Jeshta Devi Sub Shrine in all their Temples. Having come to know this fact the Pandya King built a Sub Shrine in a four pillared Mandapam for Jeshta Devi in this Harikesavanallur. Likewise the outer peripheral has a huge and massive Idol for Mukkuruni Vinayagar which is East facing. Kasi Viswanathar along with Visalakshi and Valli Devasena Samedha Shanmugar too occupy an East facing Sub Shrine in the outer peripheral. There are Sub Shrines for Navagrahams, Naga Devatha and Bhairavar. The North facing Kuberar is well known here. This Temple is renowned as a Kubera Sthalam. Entry to the Ambal Shrine is from the South but in reality Sri Periya Nayagi Ambal is seen in a standing posture and is East facing. There are two Dwara Baalakis and Murugan along with Vinayagar flank these Dwara Baalakis. There is a Palliarai close to the Ambal Shrine and adjacent to this is a vacant Mandapam where the Temple Vaahanams are kept in tandom. In the outer peripheral of the Ambal's Shrine is a Chandikeshwari Sannadhi. Near this the Temple's Nandhavanam is being maintained well. The Sthala Viruksham of this Temple is Nelli Maram or Amla Tree. It has a modern Sacred Tank too. Vinayagar Chathurthi, Aippasi Annabishegam, Arudhra Dharisanam, Masi Magam, Pradhosham, Navarathri, Maha Shivarathiri are some of the festivals are celebrated in a grand manner. This Temple is revered as Pancha Guru Sthalam, Kubera Sthalam and Mandhi Dosha Parihaara Sthalam.
