Veeravavanallur is a village located in Tirunelveli District. Sri Sundararaja Perumal Temple is located in a residential locality of Veeravanallur. This is an East facing Temple with an entrance. Opposite to the Temple there is a four pillared Mandapam in a Street there and the Temple functions are held there occasionally. This Temple does not have any Rajagopuram. On entering there is a painting of Vadagalai Thirumann Srichurnam which is flanked by a Sangu and Chakkaram. Then there is a Neivedhya Peedam or a Bali Peedam, a Dwajasthambam or a Kodi Maram which has been designed and built in such a way that it appears as though it is piercing the rooftop and going skywards.

Then there is a Sub Shrine of Sri Garudalwar which is West facing and looking towards the Moolasthanam. The Presiding Deity is Sri Sundararaja Perumal who is seen in the East facign Sanctum Sanctorum in a standing posture along with His Consorts Sri Devi and Bhoo Devi. The Urchavamoorthy Idols too are seen beneath the Idol of the Presiding Deity. It is said that the Presiding Deity of Sri Sundararaja Perumal is known for His Courage and Valour. Due to this it is said that Sri Veerapandiya Kattabomman and His retinue of Ministers made it a practice to visit this Temple on the eve of every War. It has to be admitted Sri Veerapandiya Kattabomman had won almost a majority of Wars due to the benevolence of Sri Sundararaja Perumal. The Consort of Sri Sundararaja Perumal is Sri Sundaravalli Thaayar who is seen in a sitting posture. There are South facing Sub Shrines of Sri Viswaksenar, Sri Nammalwar, Sri Alwars, Sri Ramanujar and Sri Nigamantha Desigar.

On the outer peripheral of the Temple a concrete podium has been built for conducting religious functions. The Temple gains significance since it is that Saint Kaashyapa Munivar had visited this Temple and had Prayed to Sri Sundararaja Perumal. The Temple has many colourful Vaahanams including a Garuda Vaahanam. This Temple has very few Devotees visiting here and it needs all the encouragement from the public and from the local villagers in the days ahead. The Temple has a very big Sacred Tank or Pushkarani known as Amirtha Pushkarani. There is a Manimandapam located in the middle of the Pushkarani and water flows from several canals leading from River Thamirabharani.
