Pathamadai is very close to Cheranmadevi and Veeravanallur in Thirunelveli District. This Temple is located slightly interior from the main road. It is believed that this Temple was built in the 16th century AD. This is an ancient Temple with a compound wall and a gate. The Presiding Deity of this Temple is actually Chakrathalwar with 16 hands and at the back of Him is Yoga Narasimhar with four hands. Many believe that the Narasimha Swamy Idol was established here by the Namboodris of Kerala long ago. Sri Prasanna Venkatachalapathy Perumal who is actually a Urchavamoorthy is an incarnation of Lord Maha Vishnu. He Blesses His Devotees along with His Consort Goddess Sri Devi and Boo Devi. This Temple has Sub Shrines for Lord Hanuman, Lord Garudan and Azhwars. This is one amongst the ancient and rare Vaishava Temples and hence a lot of Devotees do visit this Temple on all auspicious days. It is believed that any Request or Prayers of the Devotees made before the Presiding Deity Sri Prasanna Venkatachalapathy Perumal is fulfilled for them very soon. Margazhi Vaikunda Ekadesi is celebrated in a grand manner. Some people refer this Temple as Chakrathalwar Temple. Though this Temple is called as Venkatachalapathy Temple He is only a Urchavamoorthy here. Instead Chakrathalwar is the Presiding Deity. Many Devotees come and Pray here and refer this Temple as Thenn Tirupathi or Thennaga Thirupathi.
