This area is also called as Thirukarandhai or Kalyanapuri. This Temple is believed to be around 900 years old and the Great saint Muthuswamy Deekshidhar had sung in praise of this Temple. The Temple of Sree Adivaraaha Perumal os situated on the banks of River Thamirabharani.  The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Lord Adhi Varaha Perumal and He is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. He Blesses His Devotees along with His Consort Bhooma Devi. This Temple has Sub Shrines for Gods and Goddess like Lakshminarayana with Mahalakshmi on His lap, Vishwaksenar and Azhwars. This Temple also has idols of Dhasavathar  of Lord Maha Vishnu. We can also find Shrine for Dharma Sastha and He can be seen with an  Elephant and Horse Vahanas. Festivals like Chithirai Brahmmotsavam, Navarathri, Vaikunda Ekadesi are celebrated in a grand manner. The Theertham of this Temple is Tambirabarani. Chithirai Brammothsavam, Vaikasi Vasanthothsavam, Adi Pooram, Navaraathiri and Baikunta Ekadasi are celebrated  very well. The Grauda Seva Festival and the Sarkarai Pongal Prasadham of this Temple is very famous.  This Temple is hailed as Varaha Kshethram.
