Sri Uchishta Ganapathy Temple is located in Manimurtheeswaram close to Thirunelveli Junction. The Presiding Deity is fondly called as Sri Uchchista Vinayagar or Sri Manimoortheeswara Uchchishta Ganapathy. This Temple is considered as Asia biggest Uchchishta Ganapathy Temple and has been built on the Banks of River Thamirabharani in Tirunelveli Town. A narrow road leads from the Irratai Paalam towards this Temple and Devotees can reach it by foot or vehicles.

The Temple has a five tiered East facing Rajagopuram. Beyond this is another East facing Gopuram on top of which is a blue coloured East facing stucco Idol of Sri Pillayar. There are two Idols of Sri Chandran and Sri Suryan who are seen in a standing posture and West facing as though they are looking towards the Moolasthanam. The Temple has a Dwajasthambam or Kodi Maram, a Neivedhya Peedam or Bali Peedam and a Moonjoor Vaahanam looking West towards the East facing Moolasthanam. All these are seen in a multi pillared Mandapam and the Kodi Maram is seen as though it is piercing the roof and going skywards. This is a unique Temple where Devotees have to cross 8 Nilai Mandapam and 3 Prahaarams before reaching the Moolasthanam. There is a huge wooden door leading towards the Moolasthanam and sixteen Vinayagar Images are beautifully etched on it.  At the doorsteps of the Moolasthanam are two East facing Dwara Baalaka Idols standing guard. In the East facing Sanctum Sanctorum Sri Uchchista Ganapathy is seen with His Trunk on the Navel of a Divine Woman. He is seen Blessing His Devotees and there are four hands to the Presiding Deity who is seated on a Yoga Thathuvam. Sri Ganapathy is generally construed to be a Celebate or a Brahmmachari which means that He is Never Married. In contrary Sri Ganapathy is depicted as embracing a Woman so that His Trunk touches Her Navel. It is explained that He is of the habit of granting Child Boon to woman here. Hence many Childless Couple come here and Pray so that they would be Blessed with a kid very soon.

There are 16 Pillayar Idols in the corridor of the Temple. They are 1) Sri Kushi Ganapathy, 2) Sri Harithra Ganapathy, 3) Sri Swarna Ganapathy, 4) Sri Vijaya Ganapathy, 5) Sri Arka Ganapathy, 6) Sri Guru Ganapathy and these Ganapathy Idols are North facing. 7) Sri Shanthana Lakshmi Ganapathy, 8) Sri Heramba Ganapathy, 9) Sri Sakthi Ganapathy, 10) Sri Sankadahara Ganapathy and apart from this there is a gold coloured Ganapathy before whom a Moonjur Vaahanam is seen. All these Ganapathy Idols are East facing. 11) Sri Durga Ganapathy, 12) Sri Runaharana Ganapathy, 13) Sri Vallaba Ganapathy, 14) Sri Siddhi Ganapathy, 15) Sri Veera Ganapathy and 16) Sri Sarva Sakthi Ganapathy who are all seen as South facing Idols. There is a Sub Shrine for Sri Nellaiyappar and another South facing Sub Shrine for Sri Gandhimathi Ambal who is seen in a standing posture. Next to the Sub Shrine of Sri Kanthimathi Ambal is a South facing Sub Shrine in which the Idols of Sri Pathanjalai and Sri Vyakarapathar are seen as Shiva Lingam and facing them are two Nandhi Vaahanams.

The outer peripheral of the Temple has an East facing Sub Shrine of Sri Kanni Vinayagar and facing Him is a Moonjur Vaahanam. Parallel to this Sub Shrine is another East facing Sub Shrine in which Sri Subramaniyar is seen flanked by His Consorts Valli and Devasena. Facing this Sub Shrine is a Mayil or Peacock Vaahanam. A few Naagar Idols could be seen beneath a Tree and they are South facing. The Sub Shrine of Sri Swarna Agarkshana Bhairavar too is South facing and He is seen in a sitting posture. Sankatahara Chathurthi, Vinayagar Chathurthi are celebrated in a grand manner. Devotees who do not know their Kula Deiva Temple and are unable to find it out can choose this Temple as their Kula Deiva Temple and can Pray here.
