The full name of this Temple is Sri Annapurna Parvathi Sametha Sri Someswara Janardhana Swami Devasthanam. Sri Someshwara Temple is also known as Sri Someshwara Janardhana Swamy Temple or Sri Soma Rameswara Temple. It is located in a place called Gunupudi in Bhimavaram in Andhra Pradesh. Sri Someswara Temple has a tall East facing seven tiered Rajagopuram. This is a very ancient Temple and is revered as a Pancharama Kshethram. There is a huge Nandhi Vaahanam facing the Moolasthanam.

The Presiding Deity of Sri Someswara is considered as an incarnation of God Shiva and he is seen in the Sanctum Sanctorum in the form of an East facing Swayambu Shivalingam. There is strong belief that the Shiva Lingam in the Moolasthanam changes its colour according to Lunar properties of that day. The Presiding Deity is smaller here when compared to the other Pancharama Kshethrams. On top of the Shiva’s Shrine Goddess Annapurna’s Shrine could be seen. It is very unique to see her wearing a sacred Thread as that of a Male and she is also seen holding a Baby close to Her chest. The Consort of Sri Someswara is known as Sri Raja Rajeshwari Ammavaru who  is seen in Her Shrine. The Temple has a lovely Lotus filled Pond known as Chandrakulam opposite to it and it’s a visual treat to watch this Lotus filled Pond of this Temple. There are Sub Shrines for Sri Rama, Sri Hanuman, Goddess Adhi Lakshmi, Sri Kumaraswami, Sri Ganapathi, Sri Sooryan, Sri Chandran etc. Apart from these there is a separate Navagraha Sannadhi. The Pushkarani or the Sacred Tank of the Temple is called as Soma Gunda Pushkarani and Chandrakula Theertham. In recent days more number of Marriages are being conducted here for which the Temple provides all facilities. Festivals like Mahashivarathri and Saraannavarathri are celebrated in a grand manner.
