Sri Ullangai Konarndha Nayanar Temple is also known as Sri Gangadheeswarar Temple and it is located in a village called Maduramangalam which is near Sunguvarchathram in Kanchipuram District. Madhuramangalam in ancient times was known as Mazalaimangalam. This Ullagai Konarndha Nayanar or Sri Gangadheeshwarar Temple is built in the midst of paddy fields and agricultural lands in Madhuramangalam. The location of this Temple is just behind the Brindhavanam of Sri Embar Swamy. A narrow cemented road leads to this Temple. This Temple does not have any conventional Rajagopuram and Dwajasthambam. But instead it has a small Neivedhiya Peedam or Bali Peedam and a Nandhi Vaahanam beneath a four pillared Mandapam facing West towards the Moolasthanam. The Temple is actually East facing with a small Gopuram and on top of the Gopuram the coloured Idols of Sivan, Parvathy, Vinayagar and Murugan are seen. Before the East facing Moolasthanam there is an Idol of Vinayagar on the left and on the right is an Idol of Sri Murugan holding a Vel or Spear. The inside of the Moolasthanam has black tiles all over. The Presiding Deity is Sri Gangadhara Eswarar or Sri Gangadeeswarar and He is in the form of a East facing Shiva Lingam. There is a Holy Vessel hanging over the Shiva Lingam and this is known as Jaladhara Galantika and it would keep dripping Holy Water on the Shiva Lingam continuosuly. The Presiding Deity of Sri Gangadheeswarar who is in the form of a Shiva Lingam looks resplendent with the Rudhraksha Maalai. It is believed that Sri Embar had been to Kasi during that time and while bathing in River Ganges he happened to find this Temple's Shiva Lingam and held it in his palm. It is said that he then visited Sri Kalahasthi and finally had come to his Birth Place of Madhuramangalam and placed the Shiva Lingam here. Hence this Temple is also called as Ullangai Konarndha Nayanar Temple. The Shrine of the Ambal is South facing and in this Shrine Sri Mazalai Kamakshi is seen in a standing posture. Even the ceiling of the Temple is gorgeously painted in different colours.

In the outer peripheral of the Temple there is a South facing Sub Shrine of Sri Chandikeswarar. This Temple has an Arasa Maram and a Veppa Maram which are intertwined and beneath them are a few Idols of Naga Devathas. The Temple also has a South facing Sub Shrine of Kaala Bhairavar who is seen in a standing posture. The Urchavamoorthi Idol of Sri Kala Bhairavar is also seen within the same Sub Shrine.

The initial Temple in which Sri Embar Swamy had installed the Shiva Lingam became delapidated gradually. Then Madhuramangalam Siva Thiru Agni Siddhar who is also known as Appadurai rebuilt this Temple to what it is today. There is a South facing Idol of Sivathiru Agni Siddhar seen in a sitting posture and now his son Thiru.A.Kotteeswaran has taken over the mantle and is admirably managing the Temple. Devotees who wish to contribute for this Temple may call Kotteeswaran in his Mobile Number and do the needful.

Currently they are constructing a Temple Kitchen or Madapalli for this Temple and an enclosure in which the Vaahanams of the Temple could be kept. Also a Meditation Hall is planned on the first floor here. Devotees visitng Sri Vaikunda Perumal Temple in Maduramangalam must visit this Temple too since both the Temples are connected to Sri Embar Swamy of Maduramangalam. Purattasi Navarathri, Aavani Moolam, Chithirai Vishu, Aadi Thapasu, Thaipoosam, Panguni Brahmmothsavam, Pradosham, Maha Shivarathiri, Thei Pirai Ashtami, Panchami are the festivals that are celebrated in a grand manner.
